backyard wedding
A backyard wedding was the perfect choice for Leah and Spencer. This was not just any backyard in Los Angeles, but Leah’s childhood home. I can’t even begin to imagine how lovely that must have felt.
The week before Christmas I arrived at the house as the preparations were in full swing. Of course, this being at the end of 2020 there were some slight differences. Masks, sanitizers and a reduced guest list were unfortunately the norm for the year.
This was my first instance of a cat at a wedding, and I was thrilled to see Lucy there! The couples’ dog was not to be left out either, and we grabbed some lovely photos after the first look. There was time to exchange some personal vows by the floral arch before the guests arrived. I’d like to take this moment to recommend Ezai Floral Design. They transformed the garden into a stunning wonderland, and it smelt divine too.
As the sun set, Leah’s dad escorted her out of the house she grew up in. Her Spencer waited with a huge smile, and I think there was not a dry eye in the house as they said ‘I do’. The speeches were emotional and heartfelt, and the entire garden was filled with joy for the newlyweds.
intimate wedding at home
If you would like an intimate wedding, your backyard is a good place to start. You have full control over which vendors to use, and you are usually the ones who decide what time the party ends! For an added splash of nostalgia, the family home will hold more meaning than a golf club down the road. Unless of course you love golf, a lot. Then we need to have words.
