After all, the journey is more
important than the destination.
Meet your California elopement photographer
Hello you! I'm Kate. I'm a British award-winning elopement and wedding photographer in Southern California, where I have been proud to call home for seven years.
I've been photographing weddings and elopements for over five years and know photography, elopements and weddings inside out. My couples love my boundless enthusiasm and passion for everything I do.
Getting to meet amazing people and memorialise their day forever really is my dream job. If you want to elope just the two of you, I'm also an ordained minister and have had the great honor to marry a few of my couples.
You don't even need to have a date or a location yet. With Covid scuppering so many wedding plans I'm going full-on with the flow. Together we will find somewhere (if you need my help), and I will help you through the entire planning process.
Get in touch and we'll have the most fabulous adventure together!
I AM A LICENSED OFFICIANT IN THE U.S.
That's handy then! Yes, I can marry you wherever you desire AND take your photos. We can work together to plan the ceremony and any readings, or you can leave it to me. If it helps, I have a killer London accent. You bring the marriage license, I take care of the rest.
What exactly IS an elopement??
Although the definition of elopement is to run off and marry in secret, more couples are choosing to elope or have intimate weddings than ever before. An elopement is an intimate and non-traditional way to get married, where the focus is on the couple as opposed to the guest experience.
Also, 2020 happened and people started finding more and more creative ways to get married. Many of my couples in 2020 had originally planned larger weddings. All of them LOVED their elopements.

Plan your perfect day

Get that marriage license!
Find amazing vendors
You've already found your photographer! Just kidding. We may not click (no pun intended).
It is so important though to get on well with your photographer as you will be spending most of your elopement day with them.
Get in touch to schedule a video call with me to see if we have that magic. The cats usually make an appearance by sitting on the laptop. I get no say in the matter!
I can recommend fabulous vendors for you such as hair & makeup, florals, cakes, musicians, rentals, pilots and officiants.
As soon as you decide to elope, make an appointment with the County Clerk for a marriage license.
Once issued it is valid for 90 days. Your officiant/minister is responsible for signing it and returning back to the court within ten days.
Gone are the days of feeling pressured into a big white wedding or a local hotel ballroom!
Get married on a cliff watching the sun set over the ocean; say 'I do' in a Vegas chapel (there are many!); Read your vows in the desert with no guests but the birds in the trees; Tie the knot on a boat, a horse, a surfboard! The possibilities are endless.
It's your elopement, and you can do it pretty much however you want. Below are just some of the places my couples have chosen to elope in 2020 alone:
- parents' backyard
- on the beach at sunset
- paddleboarding in Lake Tahoe
- sunset at Joshua Tree
- sunrise at Yosemite
- cliffside overlooking the ocean
- Big Sur at sunset
- Sequoia National Park in snow
- Las Vegas, both in a chapel and at the Neon Museum
- in the woods at Lake Arrowhead
- In the redwoods followed by
