Hackney Town Hall wedding on 35mm film

HACKNEY TOWN HALL WEDDING

I bloody love weddings at Hackney Town Hall. I love people from Essex even more. I don’t have to modify my accent to be understood, and everyone knows Essex boys and girls have more fun.

Bit embarrassing being caught by Liam the groom, having a little dance outside Hackney Town Hall while I was waiting. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve no problem dancing in public. Its what I was listening to.. Liam had previously told me he loved my taste in music, and we bonded over obscure pop punk and PiL. Imagine my horror when he took my headphones and heard THIS song. I blame my friend Scottish Louise. She always sends it to me on my way to a wedding for an instant burst of 80s adrenaline.

After their lovely and emotional ceremony, we piled on a vintage London bus to Eastcheap Records for the reception. Such a cool venue in the city of London, and I’ve no idea how they were all still standing when the minibus came to take them all back to Essex at 1am.

All Kodak, obviously. Mix of 35mm and medium format film. Kodak Portra 400 for the confetti exit, mix of Ultramax, Tmax 400, and Portra 800 for the rest. Special thanks to my assistant Cody. Everyone loves him and he’s a foot taller than me so can get really cool angles. He was also wielding that medium format like a menace. See if you can work out which images are his :).
