Laguna Beach Engagement Photos
Laguna Beach is such a romantic and beautiful place, it was the perfect spot for Cristina and James’ engagement photos. We headed down to Thousand Steps beach for some fun in the waves.
I met this adorable pair last summer at a wedding fair in Huntington Beach. With only three hours sleep due to a wedding the day before, I was doing my best to stay my usual chirpy self. Along came Cristina and James who immediately energised me with their sparkling personalities and obvious love for each other.
James even gave me the fabulous idea to attach my little sports camera to a harness so any dogs invited to the wedding would be able to film from their eye view. First good boy to trial this unusual angle will be wearing it in April.
This lovely couple are not getting married until spring of 2020 and I am so excited for it. I’ve had a sneak peek at Cristina’s dress and she is going to knock James’ socks off! The location is also rather special but I’m keeping that one to myself 🙂
I had a long list of prompts ready for their engagement session at Laguna Beach but the second we got to the first location they were off! They did not need a single one of my prompts to get snuggly. They were so cute and fun, and did not mind getting wet. I’ve had great couples, but never a couple happy to wade into the waves fully dressed with me! We were all soaking wet and laughing our heads off by the time the sun set.
We have one more session lined up at another amazing location for engagement photos in Laguna Beach – Victoria Beach. This small beach has the unique tower to give it that extra fairytale feeling.
UPDATE: Laguna Beach Engagement Photos part two!
The month after the first session we were able to get the permit for engagement photos at Laguna Beach’s hidden secret – Victoria Beach. Victoria Beach is one of Laguna’s most famous beaches. It is home to the iconic “Pirate Tower” that was built back in the 1920s and a circular concrete pool that fills with sand and salt water from the waves. It’s also loved by skim boarders. So much so that the most successful skim board company on earth, Victoria Skim Boards, borrowed the beach’s name.
The city of Laguna Beach requires a permit for any commercial photo shoots. Victoria Beach is a marine conservation zone, and it saddens me to see people trampling all over the rocks and delicate sea-life.
Once again Cristina and James had no problem getting in the water! I am shooting their wedding this week and rain is forecast and I know they will have a blast regardless.
I hope you enjoy these Laguna Beach engagement photos as much as I had fun taking them, and please join me in wishing Cristina and James an incredibly happy future together.
