• WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCEDURE?
The first step is to get in touch with me. After confirming I am available for your wedding date I’ll then try and meet you both in person or on Skype to hear more about you, your story and your plans for how you would like the story of your wedding day told.
We will soon get a feel for whether I’m the right fit and the best photographer for your specific needs and vision. A 25% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your day along with a short booking form/contract. It is really simple and all done online.
• WHAT PACKAGES DO YOU PROVIDE?
I keep it simple with three coverage options, to which you can add extras depending on your needs. All collections include access to all the edited, high-res files with associated print rights, available for download in your private online gallery.
• HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE GET AND WHEN?
My average delivery time for the full gallery of images is currently around six weeks. I also do my best to deliver a few sneak peeks within a few days. Every wedding is different, but I usually deliver around 80-100 images per hour of shooting. I never release RAW files.
• ARE THE IMAGES YOU DELIVER TO US EDITED?
Absolutely, I would never deliver any RAW or un-edited files to a client. It would be like handing over a cake that has yet to be baked!
After I have selected the final images for delivery I then edit each file individually before converting to a full resolution jpeg file, which you will receive via electronic download from your private gallery.
• CAN WE PRINT THE PHOTOS OR ARE THEY PLASTERED WITH COPYRIGHTS AND SO SMALL THAT YOU NEED A MAGNIFYING GLASS TO SEE THEM?
I don’t see the point in giving my clients photos covered in copyright and so small you can’t do anything with them. The photos you download are high resolution and ready for you to print and share.
• WOULD IT BE YOU SHOOTING OUR WEDDING?
I'm very used to shooting alone but I do regularly work with a selection of very talented second photographers as required. The need for a second depends on a few variables, which we can discuss before you make a final decision.
• WHAT IS THE TYPICAL INVESTMENT YOUR CLIENTS MAKE?
My full wedding fee starts at $2500 but it all depends on the wedding and your requirements. The average investment for weddings is between $4-5k.
For access to the full pricing brochure, please get in touch with me.
• ARE YOU INSURED?
Absolutely. I’d be crazy not to be. I’m fully insured for public and personal liability.
• DO YOU HAVE BACK-UP EQUIPMENT?
I certainly do. I shoot all day with two cameras and I always have a spare in the bag. This also goes for spare batteries, lighting equipment, memory cards and shoes.
• WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SONG RIGHT NOW?
My mind changes all the time but for the last year solid it has been ‘Africa’ by Toto. My brother used to sing ‘they left Kate’s brain down in Africa’ when it first came out in the 80s.
• HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?
I travel just about anywhere. For all weddings within California travel is included in my full day rate. For anything out of state an expenses charge will be incurred, but this is simply to cover my costs. Usually this is return flights or transfers and 2 nights’ accommodation. I do not charge a travel fee for the UK - I'll grab any chance to go home!
Get in touch via the contact form to find out more.
• DO YOU TAKE FORMAL SHOTS?
People tend to hire me for my relaxed documentary style of photography, but I do like to include some formals in the final set of photos. I also understand that some people from an older generation like to have some of the more traditional shots and it’s nice to keep them happy.
• WHAT IS YOUR DREAM LOCATION TO PHOTOGRAPH A WEDDING AT?
I’d like a snowy mountain elopement in the States; sunrise at the Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo, New Zealand and summer at Bolton Abbey in the North of England. We used to go walking in the Yorkshire Dales a lot when I was younger, and the area has always held a special place in my heart.
• WHATS YOUR BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR US?
I think it's so important and often overlooked - hire a photographer whose work you love but also make sure they are someone you are happy to hang out with on your big day. After meeting or chatting on the phone or Skype, if it starts to feel like you are hiring a friend to shoot your wedding, and not just another vendor, then you're in the right place.
